These Math Conversions Manila Envelope Matching Games make for great math center activities! Students can work alone or in groups to match the letters on the envelopes (one unit, i.e. one week) with the number cards (it's equivalent unit, i.e. 7 days). After students match up all of the cards they can turn them over to reveal a pattern. If their pattern matches that of the answer key, they know they got them all correct! ★Click here to download a free sample game★Also a great way to teach commo

About the store

Experience

I taught special education PreK-8th grade for six years and general education 4th grade for five years. I also served as chair of the academically talented committee. I'm now a homeschooling mom of seven little blessings!

Teaching style

I believe learning should be something students are excited about. The best learning is when students don't know they are learning because they are having too much fun! I love to use multi-sensory, hands-on activities with manipulatives. I strive to create products that will motivate students to learn through engaging activities.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One time when I was teaching a unit on chemical reactions to my fourth grade class, I accidentally lit the floor on fire! My cheeks were bright red as I quickly stomped out the flames with my dress shoes. The kids, of course, thought this was the greatest thing that could have happened and to my surprise the parents just offered to buy me a fire extinguisher! I learned that teaching often involves taking risks and being flexible. It won't always go according to plan but sometimes the best teaching takes place in the mishaps, for we learned a great deal about safety precautions that day! This also became a shining teacher moment for me because I learned that my students' parents loved my teaching style and trusted me despite the mishaps!

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education: Cognitive Abilities K-12 and Elementary Education K-8 as well as a Masters degree in Special Education: Learning Disabilities K-12.

Additional biographical information

I love creating a wide variety of resources. My store contains primarily K-5 resources that span from special education to academically talented with a little clipart sprinkled in :)
