CUBES is a great problem solving strategy for students when solving word problems. Each of the CUBES posters are created in black and white as well as color. One set is enlarged to display or copy for each student and the other is created with 4 copies on each page to print and glue into an interactive math notebooks or to use as a desk reference.

I use this template for daily math word problem solving. There is a CUBES reference in the middle and four quadrants for students to evaluate and solve the problem and/or multi-step problem. I also am a firm believer in requiring students to explain their mathematical reasoning so there is space for students to write out their thinking.
