About the store
I am heading into my sixth year of teaching sixth grade. It is the only grade I have had the pleasure of teaching, and therefore, by default, it is my favorite grade. Even if I taught other grades, however, I cannot imagine having more fun than I do in the sixth grade.

Vocabulary game--VocabuRelay

Created by

VocabuRelay is just what it sounds like. It is a very competitive game we play in the gym to reinforce all subject area vocabulary words. We use textbooks as batons and incorporate rules to limit off task behavior. We have played it now for three years and the results are always enhanced learning of these key terms and lots of enjoyment. We only play about once a month but students beg to play more often. Included in the price is a video of my students playing this game recently.

This tiny price will get you 14 vocab games that will be new to many of you and enjoyable for even the toughest of kids. Each game has a description so you're easily able to implement the activity into your own classroom. It is the highlight of my LA class for most students and I believe these games would also increase student engagement, classroom management, and the vocabulary skills of your students!

About the store

Experience

I am heading into my sixth year of teaching sixth grade. It is the only grade I have had the pleasure of teaching, and therefore, by default, it is my favorite grade. Even if I taught other grades, however, I cannot imagine having more fun than I do in the sixth grade.

Teaching style

I am a story-teller and build positive relationships with my students this way. I use humor and my own failures to gain my students' trust and can use that to catapult us to reaching our highest potential.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Sadly--none at this time but hopefully in the near future.

My own education history

I attended Alma College for my undergrad requirements and received a Masters in Reading and Literacy from Central Michigan University. I also worked as an Education Consultant/Teacher Trainer in South Africa for ten months as a Peace Corps volunteer.

Additional biographical information

I am married to the lovely Leslie. We recenty purchased a home together and are working on starting a family with actual kids instead of just the cat and dog we currently are the parents for.
