About the store
I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2017, and shortly after obtained my teaching license for elementary grades. Rather than jump right into teaching, I pursued a career in applied behavior analysis (ABA). Working in the field of ABA has been the most rewarding experience. I love teaching life skills and providing positive learning experiences. It is amazing to see the children I work with growing and learning. I am so fortunate that I found the field of ABA and to work with the kids I do! The resources on my store website are very much tailored toward behavior analytic principles and can benefit any child!

A Social Story: Beginning School and Expectations

This is a great resource for parents, teachers and other individuals to use with students that require explicit instructions on rules and expectations. This particular social story is written for children who will be beginning kindergarten or will be going back to school. The story should be read as often as needed to meet the student's needs. This can range from twice a week to once-per-day.

Teaching style

As educators, I believe we are responsible for providing memorable learning experiences and supporting creative thinking. All students are capable of learning, however, our students must also feel they are capable of learning. By keeping expectations high, both academically and behaviorally we are better able to guide students to reach their highest potential.

My own education history

My educational background begins with growing up in upstate New York and graduating from the tiny Chenango Forks High School. Soon after graduating, I made the move to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to attend Wake Forest University. At Wake Forest University, I graduated with a double major in psychology and elementary education. Three days after graduation I moved with my soon-to-be husband to Colorado! In Colorado I was blessed with my baby girl (who isn't so much a baby anymore!). Shortly after, I obtained my master's degree from Simmons University in Behavior Analysis.

Additional biographical information

A little bit about myself… I am a mom to one incredible little girl! She is my little pumpkin! My husband and I have been together for over 2 years. I LOVE my family and I am very grateful for to have them in my life! My dream day is getting up early, having coffee and going on adventures with my family for the rest of the day. My happy place is at home and doing some online shopping (seriously could spend hours online shopping). I love hot coffee, fuzzy socks, and running outside.
