Experience

I have been a virtual elementary and middle school teacher for the past 6 years. Prior to that, I taught Kindergarten and second grade in the brick and mortar setting. I truly have a passion for teaching!

Teaching style

With the push for common core, my lessons bring in a lot of informational text and focus on text dependent questions. I generally open my lessons with an emphasis on vocabulary and scaffold my lessons to account for different learning levels. I believe students learn by doing. Because of this, I incorporate discussions, videos and hands-on activities into my lessons that students can participate using a smart board or whiteboard tools, in the virtual setting.
