This page allows students to use Cuisinaire Rods to discover and understand equivalent fractions. Students will use the rods to fill in the grids for different color wholes. This makes a great interactive notebook page and gives the hands on kinetic discovery with manipulatives! Aligns TEKS 3.3F 3.3G and 4.3C

Your students can code their own snowflake using Tinkercad's code block and following this step by step tutorial which includes pictures and animated GIFs to demonstrate each step of the process. There's an optional additional lesson that let's kids put their names on the back of their snowflakes. I used this when 3D printing the designs so that I can easily pass back the snowflakes to their creators. 3D printing is NOT required to do this lesson.

This Valentine's themed puzzle sort lets students match fraction word problems with corresponding representations and equations.
