This pack includes weekly writing prompts for September through June. I have my students glue the month’s prompt into their writing journal so they can always reference the prompts. These prompts are completed for homework once a week and I grade each writing response at the end of the week. At the end of each month, the students select one piece to revise and edit. I use the rubric attached to grade their final prompt of the month.

In this pack, I have included 4 different vocabulary lists of commonly misused homophones. Each list includes an activity for the students to complete. Additionally, I have included a choice board of different vocabulary activities for your students to complete as classwork or homework.

This unit can be used while studying the Explorers of the New World. In this pack, you will find instructions for researching an explorer, writing their obituary, creating their headstone and presenting the project using an interactive website called “Blabberize.” Additionally, I have included a rubric to use when assessing the students’ assignments.
