Experience
I've been teaching elementary school for 20 years in Northern Virginia. I absolutely love my job and making different learning tools for my students to find success!
Teaching style
I am a very hands-on teacher who loves teaching using small group instruction. I don't normally use a textbook or worksheets. I love having my students use games, manipulatives, stations, literature, and other creative ways to learn the content.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was nominated for the Washington Post Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award in 2012 and again in 2016.
My own education history
I graduated from Central Michigan University with a major in Language Arts and a minor in Math. I then went on to earn my Masters in the Art of Teaching with a Literacy Focus.
