My own education history

Ms. Reinhardt - I was born and raised in Iowa. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Iowa State University. Go Cyclones! I lived in Iowa until 1995 when my best friend convinced me to move to the big city. I became a nanny for an opera singer and was able to travel the United States and Europe with her and her son. During this time I also earned a Masters of Education in Educational Technology from National-Louis University. Getting an advanced degree is how I found Sacred Heart. Ms. Lagerquist - I was born and raised in Chicago. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fitness Leadership and Health Education from St. Ambrose University. After college I worked in advertising - print and design for 2 years. I left the advertising to follow my passion and found myself teaching at Sacred Heart Schools. It was at this point that I met Julie Reinhardt and our story began.

Additional biographical information

My name is Julie Reinhardt, and I currently teach 4th-grade. I love teaching and am very fortunate and have had the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects and grade levels. I would have to say my niche is 4th grade but I have also taught 1st grade and 5th grade. Additionally, I spent a number of years as a technology teacher. I have taught in both single-gender and a co-ed classrooms. My name is Kristin Lagerquist and I have been fortunate enough to explore what it is like to experience multiple different roles within a school. I began as the alumni coordinator where I focused on archival practices and engineering captivating events to help draw alumni back to the school. After a few years I was able to secure a teaching position where I taught Physical Education and Health to middle school students for more than 10 years. I left the classroom to fulfill my dream as a Technology Coach where I was able to work with teachers from Preschool through 5th grades. What I loved most about this position was that I was able to work closely with the teachers on integrating technology into their lessons. Helping teachers create engaging materials and giving lessons that extra 'oomph' brought joy. Due to changes in the school structure I had to leave that position and I know work in the school office where I am the administrative assistant for our academic team and also coordinate all of the school's sub needs. In this role I have really had the opportunity to see what is needed in the classroom. I have been able to figure out what would make the classroom more exciting and what resources are missing.
