This activity is an alternative to the common flipping coins or rolling number cubes. Students will flip different water bottles and determine both the theoretical and experimental probability of landing the flip.

I created this worksheet when I had trouble finding resources for this standard. To aid my students, I taught them a formula to use, instead of having to use Pythagorean Theorem twice, to find the length of the diagonal. The formula is included on top of the worksheet.

This lesson was created so that my students could practice probability word problems, in a more engaging format. All word problems are structured around short video clips from various TV shows or Movies. My students get excited when they hear we are watching videos, and they aren’t a cartoon. Students should already be familiar with calculating simple and compound probability.
