Teaching Antics in Elementary

Writing can be challenging for all students. This presentation allows students to be inspired to write an informational piece where they are the expert. This is a 22 lesson unit that includes informational writing basics to in depth characteristics of informational writing such as text features, table of contents, and more.

This is an 18 lesson unit that includes realistic fiction writing basics to in depth characteristics of realistic fiction writing such character traits, setting, problem and solution, planning the story, editing and revising support.

In Module A I chose to go to one lesson a day because the supporting text "Alexander Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday" was an easier read than other texts. Revising can be challenging for all students. This presentation allows students to think-pair-share peers work to provide suggestions to make their pieces better. This is an 11 lesson unit that includes inspiring authors to see their pieces differently and how to make them more interesting to the reader. This will include going in depth with characters actions and more descriptive details.

Based on the Core Knowledge Curriculum. This Unit of 4 lessons includes information about Americans Moving West. Specifically, why settlers came, how they moved and Daniel Boone. This also includes information about the Oregon Trail, The Gold Rush, Sequoyah, and the Trail of Tears.

This study guide was developed to help students study for all of the concepts learned in Module 2.

I wrote this poem to attach to a sand bucket I purchased at the dollar store as a goodbye gift to my students. You can print this on card stock and fold it and attach with ribbon. Hope you enjoy!
