Equations and Polynomials bulletin board set
I find that my students routinely have problems keeping equations and polynomials straight in their heads. They always want to solve the polynomial because they think of it as an equation. That’s where the idea for this bulletin board came from. I set it up almost like a comparison and contrast situation. Experience
For nearly 17 years, I have been teaching the GED to adult men inside correctional facilities. I love my job! In 2023 I was made Correctional Teacher of the Year for my state, and in 2024 I was made Regional Teacher of the Year.
Teaching style
I am a goofball. I'm not afraid to be silly and make mistakes. I strive to engage with my students as people so they can see that despite our circumstances, we really aren't that different. My students know that I have their best interest in mind, and I would never ask them to do something without first showing them how it's done. I model everything!
Awards & shining teacher moments
In 2023 I was named Correctional Educator of the Year by the Correctional Educators Association of Ohio.
In 2024, I was named Region 3 Correctional Educator of the Year.
My own education history
I have my BA in English from The Ohio State University and I have my MAEd from Mt Vernon Nazarene University in Curriculum and Instruction.

I'm a mom, a hiker, a camper, a runner, and a scrapbooker. Recently, I've also become a published author! I'm so stinkin' proud of myself!
