In the last few years my love for SOCIAL EMOTIONAL activities in the classroom have doubled. I truly feel like we as teachers / Mentors have a civic duty to create citizens who understand themselves and how to make the world a better place.
Teaching style
My teaching style is very simple: RELATIONSHIPS FIRST.....everything else will come easier if that is done immediately. My classroom kiddos are a part of my OHANA (family) that academic year and for years afterward.
My own education history
I went to the University of San Diego many years ago and majored in Political Science. I love politics and history. I wanted to go into government to make a difference but found myself with a job opportunity in teaching little ones and realized in the class is where I can make a difference in kiddos’ lives.
I have a Master's degree in elementary education , certification in the area of Gifted and Talented and am in the middle of finishing a certificate program in the area of CHARACTER EDUCATION/SEL for all grade level students. Very fascinating area!

I was born and raised in Southern California and love spending time at the beach, mountains, and everywhere in between.
