This is a Google Slide presentation that is meant to be used as a teaching tool for walking students through writing an opinion essay. It gives the purpose for opinion writing, key words students can use, a description of the OREO format, and a sample using this format. These charts allow the student or teacher to record scores for progress monitoring MAZE in order to track growth. Molly's Pilgrim is such a great book to teach. I wanted some digital activities to use as a culminating activity for my remote students. So, I created these slides. This Google Slides lesson walks through author's purpose with students. It is made interactive with the Pear Deck add on. Students can answer questions as they work through the slides to show understanding. The slides cover persuade, inform, entertain. There are also question slides for students to show their comprehension of each purpose for writing.

This Google Slide presentation begins with 3 teaching slides at the beginning with images and definitions. This is followed by 3 slides with an image of a source asking students to type whether it is primary or secondary source and explain why. The last 2 slides ask students to drag images under the correct heading.

These 10 "Would You Rather?" questions can be shared during a virtual class session for a fun holiday game or projected in class during a holiday party. The slides are editable if you wish to add more or change any options.

"The Castle on Hester Street" is the anthology text for Unit 2, week 4 in the 3rd grade McGraw Hill Wonders Reading series. (2020 edition) This Google Form quiz is an assessment over the story "The Castle on Hester Street." There are 7 multiple choice questions and 2 short answer questions in section 1. Section 2 includes multiple choice questions for the 8 vocabulary words. {The short answer questions will have to be manually graded, but the other questions have the answer key built in.}

The slides are editable if you want to change any questions or create your own on the blank template at the end. You could also make a copy of the selected slide you want to assign digitally to students.
