I made this for my pre-kinders to practice shapes, cutting, coloring, and ordering from tallest to shortest. I hope this can help your kinders and prekinders too! For best results, print the rectangles on GREEN construction paper. For added fun, print 1/2 of the rectangle pages on DARK green and 1/2 on BRIGHT green and have students swap pieces to create a snazzy pattern.

My own education history

Michelle Flaherty is a 2016 graduate of American College of Education in pursuit of her K-12 Principal Certification through Gannon University. She currently holds an M.Ed. in Educational Technology with a concentration in Digital Learning and Teaching. She also earned her Bachelors from Mercyhurst University in Early Childhood and Special Education. Michelle is certified to teach Early Childhood (PreK-4) Special Education (PreK-8) and Business Computer Information Technology (K-12). Additionally, Michelle is a Common Sense Media Certified Educator and a licensed Laurie Berkner “The Music in Me” Educator.

Additional biographical information

Ms. Flaherty is an elementary STEM Teacher with a M. Ed. in Educational Technology. She is a licensed music specialist. She began her professional teaching career in 2013, but has been teaching and learning from the start of her life. She spends her free time exploring new technology, playing ukulele, and hanging out with her best fur friend, Mac the Cat.
