About the store
While I’m new to selling on Teachers Pay Teachers, I bring over 15 years of experience—and a deep love for teaching—to everything I create. I’ve taught in both general education and Spanish Immersion classrooms, always with a strong focus on literacy and helping students find joy and confidence as readers. Over the years, I’ve worked as a Reading Instructor, Coach, and private tutor, supporting learners at all levels with strategies that are research-based, responsive, and grounded in care. I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring fellow educators as an Instructional Coach, and those collaborations continue to inspire the resources I develop today. Everything I create is rooted in real classroom experience—designed to be practical, engaging, and to make a meaningful difference for both teachers and students.

Experience

Teaching style

My teaching style is grounded in intentional planning, creativity, and a deep commitment to student-centered learning. With a primary focus on Kindergarten through 3rd grade and Special Education, I design integrated lessons that are both engaging and purposeful—always with differentiation at the core to support a wide range of learners. Every resource I create is thoughtfully crafted to strike a balance between structure and flexibility—paced to keep students engaged while leaving room for exploration, discovery, and reflection. I believe in working smarter, not harder, and love weaving in cross-curricular connections that make learning feel meaningful and relevant. While I enjoy the creative process of designing lessons, I also value simplicity—especially for our youngest learners. Sometimes, the most powerful teaching happens through the simplest activities. My ultimate goal is to make teaching more effective, efficient, and joyful—for both teachers and students.

My own education history

My journey into education began early—teaching dance and swim lessons at 16—and I’ve felt called to teach ever since. I come from a family of educators and book lovers: my dad was a geologist who became a teacher, and my mom was a librarian who shared her love of reading with everyone she met. My store name honors them and the belief they passed on to me: that education shapes lives, and reading opens worlds. Along my educational journey way, I discovered how much I love creating resources—ones that are meaningful, engaging, and truly support teachers and students. This store is my way of sharing that love and helping educators make the most of every moment they spend teaching.

Additional biographical information

Hi there! I’m a proud mom of three amazing young adults and a very smitten grandma to one adorable little boy who stole my heart from the start. My husband and I are enjoying our empty-nester adventures with our two lovable pups, Murfie and Charlie, often exploring the mountains and soaking up the outdoors. I enjoy bringing a positive, energetic spirit to everything I do and truly believe that life is a lifelong classroom—full of opportunities to grow, explore, and be inspired. Creating engaging, meaningful resources that support fellow educators is a natural extension of that belief. Thank you for stopping by my store—I’m so glad you’re here!
