Use this hands-on foldable activity to teach your students about the basic anatomy of eggs. This activity is modeled after a chicken egg, and leaves out too much of the gorey details so as not to make the squeamish students feel queasy lol. Includes a step-by-step presentation and the cut-outs for the activity.
This is an easy, no-prep Agriculture activity. Students will use their devices to research the different needs and business models associated with alternative livestock such as alpacas, goats, and quail to design their own alternative livestock farm. I used this in my high school Agriculture class, but it would work just as well for middle grades.
A fun activity to go along with The Outsiders. Students will design a tattoo sleeve to represent one of the Greasers from the novel. Can be used as an in-class activity, homework, or a formative/summative assessment.
This is an easy, no-prep game to get your students up and moving around. Simply tape the quotes around your room and have students make their guesses! Can take around 10-15 minutes depending on how many students you have. Great bell-ringer activity or filler for those end-of-the-semester days.
A fun activity to keep in your back pocket for a low-prep day! This activity is a little more challenging than my "Who Said It: Edgar Allan Poe or Ed Sheeran" activity. Simply print out the pre-numbered cards and tape them up around your room for students to walk around and guess who said it!
A comprehensive project on The Great Gatsby, can be done on a posterboard or PowerPoint. Covers the main plot of the novel, as well as deeper interpretation of the characters and themes. *Teacher Rubric Included*
A super fun activity for an English or Literature Class! This will get students up and moving around the room. A great way to get students interested in poetry! Includes: Teacher instructions and cards with quotes to use for the activity.
This terrarium lab could be used for ecology, environmental science, biology, or any other natural science class. There is also a chart included for students to chart the growth of their flowers. Students can use this data chart to make a graph as the final assignment with this lab.
I love using this activity! My high school biology teacher did a similar activity with my class and it has stuck with me for years! This activity would be a great way to help students gain a greater understanding of how alleles are passed down to offspring. The materials are minimal and will give your students a hands-on activity to help with kinesthetic learning.
This worksheet can be used as a review for key terms about food webs. The preview show two pages, but the actual download is only one page when opened in Word.
This is a worksheet that can help your students understand the process of an animal developing an adaptation in response to a change in their environment.
This dream board can be used as morning work or an art project. The spaces can be filled with words, magazine cut outs, hand-drawn pictures, etc. This can also be used as a self-reflection exercise for students to refer to throughout the season. Also helpful for teachers who could use their own personal growth project.
In my ideal classroom, I would have this chart on the wall at the front of the class where students can see and refer to it. Whenever a student responds to a question with "I don't know...", point to the chart and have them pick an alternative answer. This will keep students from getting stuck on questions and help your class come up with answers easier.
