Kenda Lawson, the driving force behind Teaching With OWLS, has an illustrious educational journey that began at Xavier University of Louisiana, majoring in Literature with a minor in Biology. She furthered her academic pursuits at St. Thomas University, earning a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. During her time there, she was not only inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education but also actively contributed to its Coalition for Anti-Racism in Education.
With 18 years under her belt dedicated to transforming the educational landscape, Kenda's roles have ranged from a literacy coordinator to a lead teacher. In 2014, her vision and passion led to the co-founding of Owls Education Company, a pioneering edtech firm focusing on curricula and content development for educators and institutions.
Kenda's commitment doesn't stop at the classroom door. She's an advocate for creating learning spaces that are both inclusive and equitable. As a captivating speaker, she's graced platforms like Black Educators Rock and the Making Connections Conference, even delivering keynotes for organizations such as the Michigan Association of School Boards.
