About the store
Hey, there! I’m a proud mom of three amazing kids, a middle school ELA teacher, and caretaker of a small farm filled with a few cows, some ducks and chickens, and the sweetest dog in the world—Piney. Piney is our beloved rescue who went from a rough start (she was dumped and starving) to ruling our hearts and home. She’s been my constant companion ever since. A few years ago, I traded my old job for a role as a para at my kids’ school, hoping for a schedule that fit their busy lives. Little did I know I’d fall in love with education! That passion inspired me to go back to school and take on the wild juggle of being a student, mom, and employee. Fast forward to today, and I’m living my dream as a middle school ELA teacher. One thing I quickly discovered? My students love short skits! They’re an amazing way to get everyone involved in reading out loud, keep kids engaged, and sneak in a little comprehension practice. But the best part is the students seem to have so much fun! There is nothing better than cognitive engagement in a classroom. Since I couldn’t find enough skits to keep up with demand, I started writing my own. These are tried, tested, and loved by my students—and I hope yours will enjoy them just as much! I’ll be adding more skits and other fun resources as I create them, so stay tuned. Thank you for stopping by my store, and I hope you find something here to make your teaching life a little easier (and a lot more fun)!

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in building strong, positive relationships with my students. I believe that creating an inclusive and understanding environment helps create a classroom where everyone feels valued and supported. While I strive to remain calm and avoid raising my voice, I also maintain clear guidelines and boundaries to ensure a structured and respectful learning space. My goal is to create a balance between kindness and accountability, hopefully helping my students grow academically and personally.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my favorite parts of teaching is my classroom "Fridge"—a bulletin board where my students can proudly display anything they’re proud of. Whether it’s a project, a drawing, or a note, it warms my heart to see my “kids” filling it up with their creativity and accomplishments. I’m so thankful that my fridge is always full—it’s a daily reminder of how amazing my students are and how much I love being their teacher.

My own education history

I grew up in a small town in the middle of nowhere and initially pursued a degree in Culinary Arts right out of high school. Life took an unexpected turn when I started a family earlier than planned, and I left college before completing my degree. For a while, I worked in a factory, but I realized I needed a career that better suited my kids' schedules—I hated missing their important moments. That decision led me to enroll at WGU, where I began the process of earning my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, paving the way for a career I truly love.
