This is a simple assessment to test students ability to decode words with short vowels and long vce words. (Also known as "Magic E Words") I use this in second grade during "Smart Start and Unit 1 of the McGraw Hill Wonders Curriculum. This contains Short a/Long a_e, Short i/Long i_e, Short o/Long o_e, and Short u/Long u_e. There is a space after each word for the teacher to put a check mark if the student reads the word correctly, or to write the incorrect word the student says. It is important
This includes lesson plans for Unit 1 Lesson 1 of the Second Grade TCI Science Program. The plans follow the TCI Website Presentation Slides and TCI Student Notebook. The lessons are based off of a weekly 5 day cycle. Each lesson includes the following: Essential Question, “I CAN” Learning Objective/Goal, Materials, Assessment, and Learning Plan.
This pdf file was made for The SuperKids Hit Second Grade AND The Superkids Take Off 2017 Edition. This file includes the Spelling Lists for the Goodbye Summer Warm Up, the First Semester Units 1-8, and the Second Units 9-16. You can send home to parents at the start of each week, or have your students place them in a clear pocket sleeve in their binder to study from. You can also laminate, cut apart the cards, and display them in a pocket chart. I made this file in Google Docs, and then saved a
I made this Powerpoint (PDF FILE) to supplement the Second Grade TCI Science Unit on Habitats. This Powerpoint is broken down into several days. Each day has its own I CAN statements. The Powerpoint gives lots of pictures of the six major habitats and the animals that live there. Also included are questions that can be used for Turn/Talk discussions with students, or the questions can be used as an Exit Ticket to check for understanding.
I made this to supplement my math curriculum. Two step word problems are always challenging for students, and therefore you can always use more practice. This can be used as a Powerpoint Presentation for whole group extra practice, or you can print off each slide, laminate, and use it for a math early finisher/center activity. You could also put students into groups and have them work together by moving around the room to solve each problem.
This is a Powerpoint Presentation (PDF FILE) that I made to support the TCI Science Lesson for Second Grade. The powerpoint reviews the difference between a living and nonliving thing. It also goes over the vocabulary word "Ecologist" Then students are asked to look at various pictures of living/nonliving things and compare/contrast them to tell how they are alike and different. Independent practice is included as well as two Marzano scales to use whole group.
I made this short and sweet powerpoint because subtracting three digit numbers always takes several weeks to teach. I use this to supplement my math curriculum. We've all been there: The internet suddenly decides to not cooperate, or we go to copy a math worksheet and the copier is jammed. Instead, I don't have to have any of those fears. I can easily open this up from my desktop and have problems already typed without me having to think! It also allows students to use their whiteboards and solv
This is a Recess Form I go over with my students at the beginning of the year. If they owe recess minutes for any reason, the form gets filled out. Under the comments section, either the teacher can write an explanation or the student can explain why they owed recess. The child must have their parent/guardian sign the form and have them return it the next day. I always make a copy prior to sending it home in case it magically gets "lost" I file the signed copy and use it if needed during parent-
