This is my 22nd year teaching in a Title One public school--although I have experience teaching many grade levels, the majority of my teaching years are in the upper grades. About the store
Experience
This is my 22nd year teaching in a Title One public school--although I have experience teaching many grade levels, the majority of my teaching years are in the upper grades. Teaching style
I am fluent in Balanced Literacy and I use the workshop model in reading, writing, and math. I use data from conferences, small groups, and assessments to drive my instruction. I use differentiated instruction within math and literacy stations, individual conferences, and in strategy/guided groups.
I strive to create experiences for students that foster independence, voice, and choice.

My work around student ownership and innovation was featured at the ASCD National Conference in Chicago! (March 2019)
My own education history
I attended SUNY Oneonta where I graduated with honors in Elementary Education. I had a concentration in English and a Special Education Minor.
I went to Bank Street College of Education in Manhattan and received my Masters in Literacy Specialization.
