Students immerse themselves in the culture of Babylon by becoming a tour guide. Either individually or with a partner, students create a guided tour which includes a written script, citations, a bit of humor, and a presentation. My students created a virtual tour video for extra credit. Discovering Our Past: A History of the World, Early Ages © 2018

For this project, students explore artifacts from Ancient Egypt and describe what archaeologists learn from their discovery. While this assignment is originally intended to be used with Ancient Egypt, it can be easily adapted to any culture. Mini-lesson includes design of presentations, presentations skills, citation, and drawing conclusions. It's good for in-class or at-home learning.

McGraw Hill Textbook: Discovering Our Past: A History of the World (Early Ages) 2018 This test covers Chapters 1-2 which I've called "Unit 1." We put a specific emphasis on primary and secondary sources. Question types include multiple choice, fill in the blank, essay, and short answer. Questions have answers on auto-grade.
