About the store
Before landing my first teaching job in 2018, I substitute taught throughout my college career. I worked in classrooms from Pre-K to 5th grade. My senior year of college, I student taught in a Pre-K class in a city school district, followed by a 4th grade class in a suburban school district. Both experiences were amazing and I learned so much about teaching and my teaching philosophy. I then taught 3rd grade for 6 years now and now I am teaching 2nd grade! My general education classroom often includes students whose first language is not English, students with learning difficulties and challenges that place them below grade level, and students that exhibit behavioral challenges. I love finding and creating resources to meet the needs of ALL students!

I love finding and creating resources to meet the needs of ALL students!

Teaching style

My teaching style is engaging and non-traditional. Any time possible, I incorporate technology, student choice, and group or partner work. I love creating supplemental materials to make learning more fun and engaging, that is catered to the needs of the students at hand . I create/use a classroom management system every year, but they differ based upon the students and their needs. I love using classroom management systems that are hands-on and provides students with ownership and accountability within the classroom.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was recently named one of Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educators of 2024. I had the privilege of going to Boston for their Leadership Summit. It was a rewarding and amazing experience! I was placed on the Dean's List all 4 years of college at Niagara University. I then completed my Master's Degree in Special Education 1-6 also at Niagara University, which was earned in 2021. In 2021, at the end of my last semester, I received an Outstanding Student award in the Graduate Department of Education at Niagara University.

My own education history

I attended Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY from 2014-2018 and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education B-2 and 1-6 with a minor in Literacy. I went on to complete my Master's Degree in Special Education 1-6 online through Niagara University, as I taught, and completed my degree in 2021.
