You can use this resource in a number of ways, but I find it is really fun to use with the monthly Scholastic book fliers. I let my students cut out and paste on photos of the book covers for each category. This is great for sparking interest in new books and seeing what genres your students are familiar with, enjoy, and want to see more of in the classroom. You can also use it to introduce different book genres.

I have used this with every one of my classes before parent teacher conferences to help my students set goals for themselves, but it can be used any time of the year!
