U.S. Presidents Fill-In Flags (Social Studies Activity)
This set of 45 (+ 1 blank) posters is a great way to motivate students to complete research on American Presidents. Individual questions like, 'Something he struggled with' or 'life after presidency' encourage students to explore and understand the presidents' lives and motivations.
When complete, the flags can be hung up as a bunting banner or as a colorful bulletin board. Paper is sized to tabloid 11x17, but can be scaled down to 8.5x11 when you print.

Plan the Music for Mass Project
In this fun project, students will learn about the role of a music director or organist in a Catholic church. Through the steps included, students will look closely at the Easter Sunday mass readings and select music for both the Ordinary and Proper (hymns). My students: read the music they are playing, cry when the music they make moves them, get angry and joyful about the events of the past and their meaning today, see all sides of every argument (and every newspaper article), understand the power and importance of their own voice, grow into independent learners, but most of all my students don't just sit there - they experience learning.
