Provide linking cubes or base ten blocks along with game and use in small group or math station. Students will use cubes to decide which number is greater and which alligator piece belongs in the row. They will then record their answers on the provided worksheet.
This activity can be used in a small group or in math stations. Students will use a ten-frame and counters if needed to solve simple subtraction problems and find the apple with the matching answer.
This is a center game to reinforce the CCSS: 1.OA.5
It will help your students understand how to represent a number on a ten-frame and also to be able to tell you how many more they will need to make a complete 10.
Simple to make! Print, laminate mat and cards add counters and they are ready to play!
