This 5 lesson packet of NYS Regents based questions is created for high school Geometry students to learn about translations, reflections, rotations, sequencing rigid motions, and constructing translations and reflections using a compass and a straightedge. Common Core Geometry: This quiz was designed for my students to utilize the notes that were given to them in the week leading up to this assessment. The quiz is mostly accessing their knowledge of rigid motions as well as reflecting over a line (and drawing the line y = x and y = -x). I added a bonus question for my students which was about an AIM from the beginning of the year. I informed my students that this quiz will greatly benefit students who are organized and maintain well-written note
Every year it is a struggle to find exciting ways to prepare for the NYS Common Core Geometry Regents Exam. This year, I decided to use one quadrilateral as a basis for asking many different types of questions spanning several units. This is certainly not a one-and-done preparation for the regents exam, but it does offer thought-provoking questions that involve constructions, critical thinking, and writing as well. I hope you find it useful in your Geometry classrooms!
