Radium Girls - Legacy and Litigation Task

Students can complete this task while reading the play, Radium Girls. This activity is best used toward the end of the unit. Students will first watch a portion of a video and answer 4 critical thinking questions, followed by an article analysis and 5 more follow up questions. These are also great discussion starters! I do not own the rights to the video linked to the assignment.

Using this detailed Google Slideshow, student will analyze the various types of prejudice seen in the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. They will make connections for each type of prejudice to characters within the book, and support their claims with evidence from the novel. In my classroom, I use this as a pre-writing activity for an essay about prejudices within To Kill a Mockingbird.

I have presented at the New Tech Network national conference in Orlando, Florida, in 2017 on the topic of "Managing Teams in the Middle School Classroom". I am currently the team leader for our high school's Sophomore English Department. I have led several Professional Development Sessions to teachers throughout our school district on topics such as: Managing Teams in the Classroom, Strategies for Group Work, and other Instructional strategies.
