Teaching style

My teaching style is built on the belief that every student can learn and thrive when they feel valued, supported, and understood. I use an inclusive approach that blends High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) with thoughtful differentiation to meet the unique needs of all learners. By adapting content, process, and outcomes, I ensure that every student—no matter their strengths, challenges, or learning preferences—can access the curriculum in a meaningful way. I prioritise clear learning intentions, explicit teaching, and engaging, hands-on activities, while incorporating visuals, scaffolding, and opportunities for choice. My goal is always to create a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment where every learner feels empowered to succeed.

My own education history

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to witness some truly heart-warming moments in my teaching journey. I’ve seen students make huge strides in their emotional regulation skills, learning how to recognise their feelings and respond in ways that help them feel calm, safe, and ready to learn. I’ve celebrated those incredible academic breakthroughs—the moments when something “clicks” and a student’s face lights up with pride. One of the greatest joys has been hearing students say they can’t wait to come to school and then watching that excitement spill over into their friendships, participation, and overall love of learning. Beyond the classroom, one of my most treasured experiences was teaching English in Bali as a volunteer. Immersing myself in a new culture while connecting with students from a completely different background was both humbling and inspiring—it reminded me that teaching is as much about learning from others as it is about sharing your own knowledge. These moments are why I do what I do—they’re the heartbeat of my career and the reason I feel so blessed to teach every day.
