This lesson is an additional lesson for the Migration and Spatial Reorganization lesson within the Spatial Reorganization unit for Pre-AP World History and Geography course. One of the best way to teach students is to make content relatable to them. This lesson has a YouTube video embedded into a PowerPoint about migrants who are migrating during COVID. Students will use an AVID style video worksheet to take notes while watching this video (approx 30 mins). Once they are done they will use a c

This lesson is designed for 3.3-A: Neoconfucianism and State Building in China in the Pre-AP World History and Geography course. This lesson includes a short PowerPoint about the shift in postclassical Chinese ideologies leading up to the Song Dynasty. This is a key concept that College Board doesn't provide specific content or numbered sources for, so this lesson includes a source they suggested for the unit. There is a worksheet students use to follow along. Resource includes:8 slide PowerPo

This lesson is for the 1.4.C lesson in the Pastoralism in Ancient Afro-Eurasia section of the Pre-AP World History and Geography course. I have titled it Interactions with Sedentary Communities. This lesson was designed with both brick and mortar and e-learners in mind. It is intended to be used as a "Gallery Walk" style lesson where students can physically move from station to station around the room or hall to take notes, but it can also be done via a PowerPoint presentation or just viewed on

This is a simple AVID style worksheet for students to use when watching (linked) Kate Humble: Living with Nomads (Nepal - Full Documentary) | TRACKS . This fits in well with the Pastoralism in Ancient Afro-Eurasia lesson in the Pre-AP World History and Geography class but can be used by anyone learning about pastoralism or nomads! As with all of my lessons, the worksheet is provided in a editable Word Doc and a PDF so you can see how it should be formatted in case it formats differently on you

About the store

Experience

I am currently in my 9th year of teaching! I have taught many Social Studies courses at varying levels (from special education through Pre-AP).

Teaching style

I love a mix of teaching strategies to expose students to different styles of learning. I do tend to include a lot of document-based questions and readings, as both of those strategies provide optimal learning.

My own education history

I started college in a community college and then joined the military. While in the military I had a mix of online classes (while in Korea) and in Afghanistan my University sent a professor to teach, so I was able to take some in-person classes there. I finished my BA after my enlistment was done at UTPB where I graduated with a History degree (and a 3.97 GPA). I am certified to teach in Florida where I teach full time at a public school.

Additional biographical information

I love to be creative so my hobbies are almost all geared towards that. I also love boating with my family. I have a husband and two sons.
