Counting Scavenger Hunt! | Digital Version Available | (Distance Learning)

This scavenger hunt is perfect for teaching students how to count! Students are given a name and quantity of items, and must go them in their house as quickly as possible! Then, through discussion, you can focus on the skills of counting verbally, counting with manipulatives, connecting quantity with written digits, the count sequence, one-more and one-less, and more! Perfect for distance learning, this fun scavenger hunt allows you to engage students over video chat, while also learning count!

Teaching style

COLLABORATIVE -- I personally feel that learning should be fun and collaborative! I love to integrate games into learning as much as possible. I want students to enjoy the process! APPLICABLE -- I try to explain to students "The Why." Why should they care about what they are learning? Why is it important? Where will they use these skills in real life? ACCESSIBLE -- I strongly believe in accessibility for all! I really try my best to eliminate "fluff," as I call it, from the materials I create to avoid visual over-stimulation. I also try to provide pictures, text, and/or color-coding to clarifying meaning for non-readers and others. SUPPORTIVE -- In my classroom I focus on providing supports for all students that could benefit from them. Whether that be a checklist, standing desk, timer, flexible seating, breaks, rewards, etc. Or whether that be carving out time to provide small-group interventions or creating extra work packets to fill academic gaps. I love my students and I aim to help them reach their full potential.

My own education history

I got my undergraduate degree in English from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and my teaching credential and my Masters of Arts in Teaching from University of California, Irvine.
