This sheet is a great way for students to explain their understanding of RL 1.3. After reading a story, students will complete this sheet by writing about the characters, settings, problem, and solution.

This is a common formative assessment and rubric that can be used after teaching Common Core Standard RL 1.3. If you do not want to use it as an assessment, you can use it as classwork or an independent center.

This resource is meant to be used after reading 2 books found on EPIC Books for Kids- Little Frog and the Scary Autumn Thing and National Geographic: KIDS- FROGS. After reading, students completed the sheets on their personal devices and submitted them back to me on Seesaw. If you do not have access to technology, the first sheet may be completed on paper.

For this activitymy students saved this sheet as their background image on PicKids, developed a question to ask after listening to/reading a story, and took a screenshot of an image that proved the answer of their question (we used EPIC and RAZ Kids books for this) . Finally studnets submitted their completed sheet on Seesaw, and added a label where they recorded themselves reading and answering their questions. For this activity, my class set this image as their background on pickids and completed a web search for the base ten blocks and counting chips for the tens frames section They then typed in the other responses. If you are not 1-1 you could easily complete this activity on paper and students could draw in the base ten blocks and tens frames. I think this is a great way to see if students are able to identify and represent numbers in different ways.

This sheet is meant to be used with the EPIC Books for Kids book- Seeds, Sprout, Pumpkin Pie After reading the story, students are to use context clues to determine the meaning of the given words, then they can draw or add a screenshot from the book (if you are 1-1) and include their defintion of the word.

These posters are a great resource to use at the beginning of the year to get to know your students. I plan on using these not only to get to know my students, but to also to show them how to use Seesaw and PicKids. For activity, I will send my students the posters on Seesaw, they will then open them in PicKids, where they will practice uploading pictures, typing and adding stickers/emojis. When students are finished, they will then submit their poster to me on Seesaw and I will print it off fo
