Preview of Build a Bridge

Build a Bridge

Looking for a STEM activity that each child can do on their own. Here is a fun engineering activity with minimal supplies. Students build a bridge with craft sticks, binder clips and clothes pins. Use pre weighed baggies of sand to gauge the amount of weight a students can hold. Students use the worksheet to pre draw their blueprint. After the challenge they record their observations and changes they would make for their 2.0 version of their bridge.

Use a yard stick to measure the height of the standing tower. Students use the worksheet to pre draw their blueprint. After the challenge they record their observations and changes they would make for their 2.0 version of their tower.

My own education history

I have worked with kids in some capacity for 18 years. I will be gradating next year with a BA in elementary education. I love to work and volunteer with kids ages PreK to 12th Grade but my heart is in elementary.

Additional biographical information

I am the single mother of an amazing son who has ASD. I have learned so much from my own journey with him and that has influenced my teaching style a great deal.
