About the store
I taught all levels in elementary education for 35 years and instructional technology for 6 years. I started out teaching in Florida, moved to Washington State, and taught in the same district in California for my last 36 years. After retiring ten years ago, I did some consulting and taught educational technology classes for the Orange County Department of Education. I volunteer at my local elementary school and continue to make educational materials for friends in my old district and help them with writing grants.

Visors for Holidays and Special Events

This PDF contains 24 different visors for your students to decorate and wear for holidays and special events. I have deliberately severely limited any clip art to encourage creativity in the students for their own illustrations. When I taught sixth grade, we had a “buddy” class in kindergarten that we would take on a science field trip on the school playground. My students made binoculars from toilet paper rolls for the younger students, and each pair of buddies would focus on different natural

If you are just starting your exciting journey into teaching, this document (from a veteran with over 40 years of experience in the classroom and 15 years as a retiree volunteer) might be helpful! Some of the suggestions are about room décor and organization while others are about how a school organization operates. It doesn't really fall into any of the available resource types or subjects, but it might give you a few ideas of your own.

Experience

I taught all levels in elementary education for 35 years and instructional technology for 6 years. I started out teaching in Florida, moved to Washington State, and taught in the same district in California for my last 36 years. After retiring ten years ago, I did some consulting and taught educational technology classes for the Orange County Department of Education. Teaching style

I always believed in a student-centered classroom with lots of cooperative learning. I started using computers in the classroom about 1977 and never looked back. Technology became one of my strongest teaching tools.
