My students always forget what they need to check and do to pack up for dismissal, especially when the afternoons feel so rushed! This simple and short visual checklist will remind them of what they need to do. Hope it helps your students too!
You can use this as a poster for your word wall and/or a quick exit ticket to assess students. You can have students cut and paste the pictures into the right category for the second slide.
I put 3 of the writing peer feedback templates on 1 page. Students write glows and grows (with a sentence starter) during peer feedback/writing publishing parties. I also used this template to give written feedback to my students.
My students were watching videos and reading books about Disney World theme park rides and tours when they were studying for the informative writing unit. They had to use their 5 senses for this writing activity.
These slides go over how to create a lava lamp with a short video from Youtube. There are also speaking stems included on the last slide so students can have a discussion when they are finished with the project.
This is a Pi Day activity sheet. I had my students color in the numbers for Pi based on if they were odd or even. Then, I passed out the beads and pipe cleaners for students to make their Pi Day math bracelet.
These slides include steps on how to plan for a personal narrative (characters, setting, problem, and solution). The last slide includes the teacher's example with Bitmoji pictures.
I use these planning sheets for my students to plan out their narrative story. They also use these sheets to create their story in Scratch Jr. (a coding program).
Students will learn to debate (practicing speaking and listening skills) with each other about whether or not trees should be cut down. There are sentence stems on the last slide. This can also be used for the persuasive writing.
This chart has commonly used idioms on 1 column and what they actually mean in another column. I had my students glued it into their ELA interactive notebook as a chart they can refer back to if needed.
The slides include written rules about fractions, anchor charts, and videos to teach your 4th and 5th graders about fractions! I use this as a review slide before an exam. Enjoy!
