I reviewed the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) to create this document. I used the Kinder TEKS for this particular one. Not only does this help the teacher remember what TEKS they must cover, but it allows the students to have an easy reference guide. I added a lot of visuals, in addition to words, which will help any English Language Learners and Emergent Readers. They relied on this booklet extensively, and it increased their speed and proficiency in writing. Not saying that it will work for all children, but why not try it out. These are encouraged to be used for classroom management. When students exhibit a particular behavior, one of the pawprints may be punched. Ten pawprints exist on each card.
