Teaching style

I prefer the hybrid style of teaching; I want my students to get to know me and to act as a coach for them, but I also want to empower them as leaders. My passion is empowering students to make choices about their learning, decisions about their school (involved in leadership), and to care for their school and community through service-based projects, engaging, hands-on activities, and technology. My personal motto is, "If I am not having fun, my students are not having fun!"

Additional biographical information

I live with my family in New Bern, NC, which is near the coast. We have lived here for 15 years. We have one cat, Foster, two dogs, Ruby and Cece, and a bearded dragon, named Titus.
