Experience

20+ years teaching high school mathematics (all levels: basic, college-prep. and honors) Experience tutoring high school, college (undergraduate & graduate), and adult learners in mathematics, SAT & GRE test prep., and engineering. Teaching style

Structured, detail-oriented, but also relaxed. I try to focus and highlight relevant details, but not get too uptight about ones that are less important. I see a sense of humor as an invaluable asset to teaching and learning. I try to acknowledge and teach to multiple intelligences as much as possible. I am always interested in learning new things and draw much of my passion for teaching from this desire. I like to try to spark this in others.

Additional biographical information

My goal is to provide math teachers with resources they can use immediately to help them be successful with their students. I'm interested in listening to and playing music... I played in a jazz quartet with high school students (juniors) in high school, "Coffee House" performance in 2002, and in seasonal holiday concerts in the community with the high school jazz and concert bands. While in college, I was a member of the Washtenaw Community College Jazz Orchestra that played in Carnegie Hall in 1989.
