I am currently in my 14th year of teaching, and I have taught at the same school in rural GA for thirteen of those years. During that time, I have taught Math every year (except for the one year I taught Reading!)

Using Georgia's Inspire Learning Plans, Unit 8, Two Dimensional Shapes, this is a completed Google Slides deck of "Investigating Quadrilaterals." The slide deck has both the Teacher Guidance and Student Reproducible sheets embedded. It also includes activities from the learning plans within this lesson in Inspire with pics and definitions from GA's K-12 Mathematics Glossary. This is NOT the entire Unit 8 Inspire lessons, this is just the lesson, Investigating Quadrilaterals.

Experience

Teaching style

I believe students learn by moving and through hands on activities. I love to see students working in small groups and learning from each other. I am not a pencil and paper only teacher...students need to enjoy learning, and I strive to make learning fun.

My own education history

I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2010 from Georgia Southern University. In 2017, I obtained a Master of Science in Elementary Reading and Math from Walden University. Lastly, in 2020, I obtained an Education Specialist in Early Childhood Education from Walden University.

Additional biographical information

I love teaching, but most importantly, I love my family. I am the mother of three amazing children, and the wife to an amazing man. I love to read and learn, and I love to share that love of learning with my students. (Math is my absolute favorite though!!!)
