With a decade of experience in the classroom, I am a dedicated Physical Science teacher who has spent most of my career working with special education students in a Title I school. I love making science accessible and engaging. I specialize in creating real-world connections that bring abstract concepts to life. Energy Transformation Game
*MAKE COPY FOR EACH GROUP
Students will play energy to energy game. The first student will lay down a picture card. The next student will lay down a word card of the type of energy before the picture. The next student will lay down the word card of the type of energy after the picture. Once an energy transformation is complete, the next student will begin another by laying down another picture.

Energy Source and Transformation Stations (Student-Led)
These stations can be completed together or independently. Each station starts with a video and three questions from the video. After each video, students will complete the energy transformation in each energy source. Station 1: Nuclear Station 2: Wind Station 3: Geothermal Station 4: Solar Station 5: Discussion - Students write an essay on which renewable energy source a town should invest in for cleaner energy.

Classifying Matter Scavenger Hunt (Pure Substances and Mixtures)
Students will use Google Doc to insert a picture of a substance and classify it using the drop-down boxes provided. When classifying, the answer choices will be color-coded so that students can understand them easily. If the substance is pure (blue), the next answer should be an element or compound (blue). If the substance is a mixture (green), the next answer should be heterogeneous or homogeneous (green). Students should provide evidence to support their answer, which is also a drop-down box.

Slingshot Challenge - Potential and Kinetic Energy Lab
DAY 1: Students will work in groups to create their own slingshot. They will start off by researching how they want to design their slingshot. Once they draw a diagram, they will start to build. After they have built their model, they will compare their model tot their peers. The group will formulate a hypothesis to explain which slingshot will work the best. Teaching style
I like to say it is organized chaos because I incorporate a lot of group work or partner work. I focus on teaching a strong foundation, then build critical thinking through activities. My labs are made possible through Teachers Pay Teachers. The income from this platform allows me to provide my students with hands-on activities in the classroom.

I have a degree in Middle Grades Math and Science with a Master's in Middle Grades Science. I have taught Physical Science for ten years.
