Teaching style
With over two decades of teaching experience, I am passionate about fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Since 2001, I have had the privilege of teaching a diverse array of subjects to students in grades 6-12, including Civics, Current World Issues, Ancient World History, Modern World History, Drama, Ceramics, English 7-10, U.S. History, and Washington State History. My dedication to inclusive education is reflected in my collaboration with the special education department as part of an inclusion team, ensuring all students have the opportunity to thrive. I am equipped with specialized training in Sheltered English, inclusion strategies, and Response to Intervention (RTI), which enhance my ability to support and engage all learners. My commitment to education is driven by the belief that every student has the potential to succeed, and it is my mission to guide them in discovering and achieving their full potential.

One year, a student gave me a sticky note that read, "You are the least evil teacher I've ever had." Although I was named Teacher of the Year for my district in 2017, I'm even prouder of that sticky note.
