This activity makes students perform close reading skills by following directions. This activity takes 5 minutes. Hand out the worksheet face down. Tell them they have five minutes to complete the test. The purpose of this test is to leave a lasting impact on students as to why they need to read all directions first. Great to do at the beginning of the year!

This is a fun writing activity that you can have your students complete to get to know each other. Have each student write two truths and a fib (a lie). They then share them to the class to see how well they know each other.
