Teaching style
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that all students can make progress and thrive. As a Doctor of Special Education, my teaching style—and therefore every resource in The Bloom Box—is built around intentional, universal design. We begin with the end goal in mind, providing multiple pathways for success. You will find that all resources are engineered for high levels of student engagement, incorporate multi-sensory learning where applicable, and utilize seamless differentiation so that any student can be an active participant of the lesson. The result is adaptable, evidence-based instruction that guarantees growth.
Awards & shining teacher moments
While receiving the Teacher of the Year award was a wonderful honor, the true shining moments of my 23+ year career are found in the everyday triumphs of my students. Nothing is more rewarding than watching my "special" students bloom into independence—from a student proudly navigating the lunch line alone, to another successfully drafting their very first essay. More than any award, I want my students to know that I care about them, love them, and believe in their unlimited potential.
