Teaching style

As a school social worker, I am deeply committed to creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment for all my students. My teaching style is centered around being fun, validating, and accommodating, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience, and I strive to incorporate creativity and excitement into my lessons. By using interactive activities, hands-on projects, and engaging discussions, I aim to spark my students' curiosity and foster a love for learning. Validation is at the core of my teaching philosophy. I understand that each student comes with their unique strengths, challenges, and backgrounds. I work hard to recognize and celebrate these differences, creating a classroom atmosphere where every student feels heard and appreciated. By building strong relationships and promoting open communication, I encourage my students to express themselves freely and take risks in their learning. Accommodating diverse learning needs is also a key aspect of my approach. I adapt my teaching strategies to meet students where they are, providing tailored support and resources to help them succeed. Whether through differentiated instruction, one-on-one support, or flexible grouping, I am dedicated to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.

My own education history

With a strong foundation in social work, I hold both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Social Work. I am also a licensed professional educator in school social work and have earned a specialized Trauma Counseling Certificate. Over the past seven years, I have dedicated myself to supporting students and fostering their well-being within the school environment, specializing in school social work for the last six years. My academic background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of social welfare systems, mental health, and the challenges that students and families face. This knowledge enhances my ability to provide effective support and intervention strategies tailored to individual needs. In my role as a school social worker, I have gained extensive experience working with a diverse population of students, including those with special needs and severe emotional disabilities. I have successfully collaborated with educators, parents, and community resources to create a holistic support system for students, ensuring that their social, emotional, and academic needs are met. Through my work, I have developed a strong passion for addressing trauma and its impact on learning. My Trauma Counseling Certificate training has provided me with the tools to recognize and respond to the effects of trauma in students, allowing me to implement appropriate interventions that promote healing and resilience. Overall, my experience as a social worker has been deeply rewarding. I am committed to advocating for students and empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. I look forward to continuing this important work and making a positive difference in the lives of those I serve.
