The Ceramics Classroom

Students will be able to organize their project ideas and document their thought process. The teacher can then approve the plan in order for students to get started on a project. By providing an approval date and signature, students are held responsible for their time management. This helps students to become organized, take responsibility for their planning, and become self-sufficient lifelong learners/ artist.

I use this to have my student self-reflect and grade themselves on how well they think they did on the wheel. Students will circle what points they think they deserve for each category and then have a one on one with the teacher and come up with a final score. Teacher will then give feedback.

Ceramics toolbox and list

This is a great way to check for understanding and have your students show off their knowledge. This quiz test students on identifying classroom equipment, tools, and Hand building techniques.

This is a great way for students and teachers to do a one on one grading. Students will understand which standards are being meet and what is being required of them. This also gives a space for students to reflect and give the teacher feedback. Comes in Spanish for EL students.

Use this template to create designs for clay signature and texture stamps. Students will also be able to design how they plan to draw out their handles in relation to their stamp shape.
