Experience

I have been teaching for 9 years, including everything from PreK through 7th. I have worked mostly in Language Arts and Science, but have also taught other areas as well. I have sought out professional development in students with ADHD, Autism, Behavioral needs, the Science of Read, Dyscalculia, and Google Suite. Teaching style

I try to include components from a few different ideologies, but the central concept is that students will meet our expectations best if they are engaged. In order to achieve that I include components of: project based, inquiry based, literacy in all areas, and gradual release.

My own education history

I was educated in a nationally recognized district in Georgia from grades K through 12. Following this I got a Bachelors of Arts degree in Theatre. After becoming a volunteer and later board member with a Special Olympics organization, I decided to set a new course, and earned a Masters in Teaching Special Education from Georgia Southern University.

Additional biographical information

The Color Coded Company was started after many educators began trying to implement my practices in their own work after seeing the ability it had to help students grow in their thinking. While color coding is most definitely a strategy used in my products, I try to include a variety of strategies that have worked well for my learners across various abilities and ages. I try to bring in all sorts of ideas and backgrounds and am open to new ideas and believe that learning should never stop. Need something you don't see? Feel free to email it and I'd be happy to try and custom create something for you: colorcodedteaching@gmail.com
