About the store
I've been an art teacher since 2013, and started working with middle schoolers. Now I teach high school students. Over the years, I’ve taught a wide range of creative subjects—everything from photography and drawing to sculpture. I love helping students find their artistic voice and gain confidence in expressing themselves visually. In addition to the arts, I have a passion for personal finance and financial freedom—something I enjoy weaving into my teaching whenever I can. I believe preparing students for life beyond school means giving them both creative tools and practical knowledge. You might even find a few cross-curricular resources that blend art and money smarts in my store! My lessons are designed to be classroom-tested, easy to implement, and student-approved. Whether you're new to teaching art or a seasoned pro, I hope my materials save you time and bring fresh energy to your classroom. Thanks for stopping by—and thank you for the work you do!

Awards & shining teacher moments

My teaching style is all about engagement, exploration, and real-world connection. I strive to create a student-centered classroom where choice and voice matter. I design art projects that are theme-based and open-ended, giving students the opportunity to make personal connections and explore their own ideas. I love integrating new materials and processes whenever possible—giving students hands-on experiences they may not get anywhere else. Creativity shouldn’t be confined, and neither should learning—so I often blend in cross-curricular topics like financial literacy to help students connect art to life beyond the classroom. Whether it’s experimenting with a new sculpture technique or discussing how artists manage money, my goal is to make every lesson meaningful, memorable, and empowering.

My own education history

I originally set out to become a graphic designer, drawn to the power of visuals and creative communication. While pursuing my degree, I worked as a paraprofessional in special education—and that experience changed everything. I discovered how much I enjoyed working with students and supporting their growth in a classroom setting. In 2008, after being laid off, I took it as a sign to follow my heart and return to school for education. I earned my teaching degree and later went on to complete my master’s in education to deepen my knowledge and better serve my students. This journey gave me a strong foundation in both design and teaching, and I bring that mix of creativity, empathy, and practical skill into everything I create for the classroom.

Additional biographical information

When I’m not teaching or creating resources, you’ll probably find me out exploring with my wife. We love to travel, camp, and dive into new adventures—whether it’s discovering a hidden hiking trail, visiting a new city, or trying something completely out of the ordinary. I believe that curiosity and creativity go hand in hand, and I try to bring that same spirit of exploration into both my classroom and my resources.
