Experience
I am in my 20th year of teaching visual art. My current assignment is in a K-5 building, where I have taught for the past 11 years. I am excited to be a part of this network of great teachers to share my ideas - I have always been a collector of resources as art has been my passion since I was a child.
Teaching style
My teaching style is hands-on with a focus on the whole child. I am a strong believer that art is more than production - it is production along with art history, criticism, aesthetics and real-world experiences.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I have served on several committees involving diversity in education, curriculum development, and the arts.
My own education history
My undergraduate degrees are in Art Education and Art History, with a minor in photography. I have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Additional biographical information
I have an elementary-aged daughter as well as a son in high school and another daughter in college.
