This lesson is an introductory lesson into sonnets. It gives a brief overview of Sonnet structure and uses Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare as an example. Answer key included.
This activity is a great activity to engage students into Black History Month. Acrostic poems are easy to make and enhances student learning. We are currently working on a poetry unit in a self-contained 7th/8th grade special education class. Students were also asked to find and print a picture to hang with their final copy that was completed on poster board or large paper. Students were required to write a draft and have it checked prior to starting the final copy.
