Over 20 years in education and I'm still excited by the possibilities in this important field! I have taught in the classroom and in the music room - I'm passionate about how to integrate the arts with the general education curriculum. In addition, I've trained thousands of educators in Arts Integration, STEAM, SEL, Common Core, and EdTech.
Teaching style
Our students need teachers who are upbeat, positive, and keep the energy going, but who are also vigorous and keep those brains engaged. That's where I come in! I love creating arts integrated resources that build hands-on, minds-on learning.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Have created keynotes and resources for a variety of state departments of education and the US Department of Education. In 2007, my school was awarded a School of Distinction from the Kennedy Center for our use of arts integration under my leadership. I've also written articles for Edutopia, EdWeek, and Arts and Activities Magazine.
My own education history
Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Science in Education Administration and Supervision.
